ca y est…we are done, safe and happy…a lot to say but that will be for the next time.
so a short word to share this moment with you all…
I just reach Delhi, to catch up my flight home, before my visa runs out….that was hot and bounced in my head for the last week,… Will i have enough time to go out of the mountain, close enough to find easily a bus, get to the boarder as my nepali visa runs out also, find a plane and reach delhi early enough….I have to say, little problems like that can make you not enjoying your flying or at else push you to decision that you wouldn t do if you were on a normal mode. I decided…if tomorrow the wind still strong, (50 to 80 km) i ll start to walk towards south and make my way out to the flat lands.
We were only 140 km of the boarder when the weather went bad. Some strong winds at differents altitudes and a terrain more and more dry, more low, mixing zone betwin the plane , and the big Sagarmatha region (everest). All that was not very inspiring, especially after the entire route wich was fantastik….I had a call with Brad this afternoon as they reach the bottom of the valley, and conditions are too strong now…it s time to stop…they progressed towards north east of 20 to 30 ks more but landing was behing a bit hazardous and gambling is not suitable in this environnement. They are on their way to Katmandou by now.
WE ARE SAFELY DONE
So here it is, The Up himalayan odyssey stop at a 100 km from the sikkim boarder and that s cool, cause never, we would have enough memory to remember every things we seen, learned, experienced, tasted and enjoyed. We are three pilots happy to have achieve such a route, fullfilled with the energy of these countrys, their smiles, theirs strenghs, their voices and laughs. More than the film we want to do, we want also bring back information to future pilots interrested by this adventure. We have collected informations all along the way and will make this website going on with updates of all the tracks, texts and photos possible, in the next months.
We ll come back later on the highlights of the trip, for now, it s time to pack my bags to leave india.
A big thanks to all the followers, commenters, helpers, friends and familly who supported us so well.
We always had report of the web activity and outside world by manoj, lynn and graham and often, deep in the range over 3000 in a cold night it bring us warmth energies.
Thanks for that.
The important is sharing.

  1. It has been so exiting to follow you guys on your blogg every day. What you have accomplished it’s really something. I have been looking forward to meet you here in Kalimpong (south of Sikkim) where I’m flying. But with this weather conditions we got the last two weeks I do understand that it was not possible. Any way, well done guys and welcome to Kalimpong some other time!

  3. the last thing you needed at the end of a great adventure was an arguement with delhi beaurocrats in the chaos of city airport – so we welcome back to civilisation!
